Internships

During the time of martial law in Ukraine, FES does not offer internships for non-Ukrainian students at its Kyiv Office.

FES Ukraine offers internships for students of political and social sciences and related disciplines who are in an advanced stage of their studies (third year of BA, or MA program). The main purpose of an internship at our office is professional orientation.

Typical tasks of an intern depend on our priorities and lines of work as well as on current needs. They include analysis of current political, economic or social issues and assisting in the conception and evaluation of project activities. Interns support our team in organisational work, take over translations tasks, and assist participants and international guest before and during events.

Prerequisites:

  • experience in scientific work and literature research;
  • very good language skills in German and English; knowledge of Ukrainian is a plus;
  • proficiency in MS Office;
  • strong organisational and communication skills;
  • flexibility, willingness to work evenings and weekends by prior arrangement and to work independently on business trips within Ukraine;
  • interest in the work and goals of the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung.

The duration of an internship is usually two to three months.

Application:

Applicants are requested to send us the following information by e-mail (ukraine(at)fes.de) at an early stage:

  • Curriculum vitae that also shows your non-university involvement;
  • Letter of motivation in which you also explain how the internship will contribute to your personal career;
  • Subject areas that you are particularly interested in during your internship;
  • Desired period of the internship, if possible with concrete dates.
